Monthly Skill Focus

May: Money Management.

This month, we will focus on helping our clients develop essential financial skills, including financial literacy, budgeting, and smart financial practices. Our goal is to provide practical strategies and tools to make informed financial decisions and achieve stability.

We will teach clients how to create budgets, track expenses, and set financial goals. Techniques for saving money, understanding credit, and making wise investments will also be covered.

Additionally, we will emphasize the importance of financial planning and maintaining a healthy financial balance. This includes managing money to cover essential needs, save for emergencies, and invest in the future.

Through these activities and discussions, we aim to equip our clients with the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances efficiently. May will be dedicated to empowering them to take control of their financial situation, reduce stress, and achieve a stable and prosperous life.

Diving Deeper

First Program Graduate and End of Year Project

We are excited to announce that we are planning for our first successful graduate from the program in June. This milestone is particularly special as our graduate is spearheading an end of year anti-bullying project to raise funds for The Trevor Project.

This project was chosen by our client and has been a year-long endeavor incorporating each month's theme, and provided valuable lessons in setting up, planning, and developing a comprehensive initiative. The fundraising event will be a carnival-themed event with a goal of raising $1,500. A donation link will be provided closer to the event and will be through The Trevor Project.

This is an exciting event as its a reflection of the hard work our client has done during his time in the program. Before joining our program he was in and out of trouble in school weekly and faced multiple suspensions throughout the year. Home life also had its ups and downs resulting in conflict with loved one. Since joining the program our client has had 1 school related problem or concern and home life has improved significantly. The client has pursued more prosocial activities such as school plays, dances and choir concerts.

The project coming to life and getting ready to take place has provided a new sense of accomplishment and opportunity. We are excited to see how he will utilize these skillsets moving forward in life.
