Each month we teach a youth a specific basic living skill. November is all about Networking!

Networking is an essential skill for our youth and young adults, enabling them to build meaningful connections, discover new opportunities, and navigate their career paths effectively. Through various activities and discussions, we aim to teach them the importance of networking and how to do it effectively. This journey of building connections fosters support, collaboration, and a sense of community, empowering them to expand their support systems. This, in turn, strengthens their resolve to remain out of the legal system and overcome challenges. Encouraging networking helps young individuals not only to advance in their careers but also to lead enriched and connected lives.

Utilizing Your Generous Contributions

We are incredibly grateful for the support from Walmart and our charity bingo event participants. The $500 Walmart grant has been instrumental in securing a year’s worth of specialized legal services as a startup nonprofit. These services help us track important compliance dates and provide valuable insights on taxes and state requirements. This is a huge help, especially given our limited staffing—the founder, and two dedicated volunteers.

The $800 raised from our recent fundraiser has been crucial in covering the costs of our office space, where we hold classes and conduct our most transformative work. Our office has been referred to by our youth as a safe space where they can be themselves and be vulnerable and open to changing their behaviors. Additionally, these funds have supported our software development needs, enabling us to track important data that demonstrates the positive impact of our work. Some of the early reportable data includes:

- Average youth attendance rate: 78%
- October youth attendance rate: 100%
This type of data is essential for securing future contracts and partnerships with government agencies and organizations, and securing grant funding.

Roxy's Drag Charity Bingo was chosen because our hosts for the night embody the very things we are teaching our youth. They pursued their passions and talents as artists and entrepreneurs. Transformed vacant space into a multi-venue community hub, contributing to the revitalization of the local community. By following their passions and skills, they are making a positive impact to those around them.
